Lesson Instructions

Your teachers are to select one lesson they would like to teach throughout the day. Not all lessons have to be taught in your school. To aid teachers in selecting their lessons, we have listed them by grade levels (K-2, 3-4, 5-6). Lesson plans and content are planned for 40-45 minute sessions. Teachers may change the lessons to fit their own teaching style and the needs of the students.

Most lessons are taught in the teacher’s classroom; however, the Transportation lesson needs to be set up in the gym or other open area, and Rockets are launched outside.

Note:

Your school will need to provide some materials. The Rockets lesson will require 50-60 two-liter soda bottles; the Hurricanes lesson will require 30 two-liter soda bottles. The Clouds, Wind, and Weather lesson will require 1 bag of crushed ice; the Sense and Nonsense lesson will require 2-3 bags of ice (cubed ice preferable; crushed ice okay), or 3-4 if doing the evening fair. Such instructions are noted in the individual lesson plans.

Important:

Videos are provided for most of the lessons. Please urge your teachers to read through the lesson plan they have chosen to teach before they view the video.

The equipment will be delivered usually the night before the program.
